Do you have a question?
There is no such thing as a daft question. If you can't find the information that you are looking for on this page, just send us a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible!
What level of fitness is required to join one of your adventures?
We offer trail running holidays to cater for all levels of runner. Some of our trips are aimed at runners that have little to no experience on mountain trails, others are for those more acquainted to high mountain running. As an example, on our Chamonix essential trail running holiday, we would aim to be out for around 6 hours per day. Routes will include hills, both up and down and some altitude gain, but we can easily shorten or extend this if required. We do recommend that you are a regular runner and can comfortably cover 20km, but if you are concerned please contact us to discuss.
What is the accommodation like?
All of the hotels that we use are centrally located, clean and comfortable. On some itineraries where we visit remote areas, we stay in mountain huts up in the hills. Mountain huts are often ‘rustic’ but comfortable, with excellent local food on offer. We will be staying in shared rooms or dormitories. Hot showers are available, and usually a change of shoes, so you can leave your dirty trail shoes at the door. Rooms at the hotel are twin share, but single rooms can be booked for an additional supplement. Please note that in most mountain huts, single rooms are not available.
What should I pack?
We recommend packing one set of running kit per day, with warm and cold options, plus a change of clothes for each evening. It can be cold in the evenings and even during the day, particularly when we are up high in the mountains. A lightweight running pack with the ability to carry water & other necessary items, plus a good quality waterproof jacket (gore-tex or equivalent) are also required. For each trip, we will send you a list of essential items and a suggested packing list. Please contact us if you have any concerns about what you need to bring on one of our trips.
Do I need specialist shoes?
We recommend trail-running shoes for all of our trips as they have more grip and are better suited to mountain terrain and variable conditions. Please contact us if you need any advice on purchasing kit for our trips.
Can you cater for specific dietary requirements?
We work closely with local hotels, restaurants and mountain refuges to ensure they understand and cater to specific diets. Just let us know at the time of booking and we will do all we can to make sure that your requirements are met. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
What are the booking Terms & Conditions?
You will find our Terms & Conditions here. We ask that these are signed and sent to us at the time of booking.
Do I need Insurance?
As per our terms & conditions, personal travel insurance is absolutely essential and we will require full details of your policy before you travel. Your policy must cover all risks associated with the trip, including the needs of air rescue from any location connected with the trip. Please contact us if you need help with the level of cover, type of activities and max altitude for any specific trip.
